ATC to Resume Enforcement of Vapor Product Restrictions

Updated March 12, 2024

BATON ROUGE – The Louisiana Office of Alcohol and Tobacco Control (ATC) will resume the enforcement of state laws affecting the marketing and sale of vapor products on March 18, 2024.

Act 414 of the 2023 Regular Session of the Louisiana Legislature restricts the types of vapor or alternative nicotine products and electronic cigarettes sold in Louisiana to those listed on the VAPE Directory managed by ATC. Enforcement of this law was previously suspended due to ongoing litigation.

Effective March 18, 2024, the prohibition of the sale, offer for sale, or possession by retail dealers or wholesalers of vapor or alternative nicotine products not listed in the VAPE directory will be enforced. Businesses are required to remove prohibited products from inventory and display.
